This Month On Our PageThis month we've been looking at the classic lego smiley face. This got me thinking, what is the classics, the basics, photography. So I'm here. Let's see, basic photography we're so I start? The camera: the most important tool of photography. The CameraWether it's an iPhone, a digital, or a professional, it takes photos and costs money. Your camera doesn't have to be top of the line, high end camera. It can and probably will be a phone at some point. But an important thing is that you're comfortable with it. It has to fit right or you won't like it. Also make sure it's ready for all environments, sand water, winds, and sun can all affect the camera. Make sure you have good ISO, and white balance options. The sun is brutal and it won't change, but if you're using indoor lighting, you have some control. The camera is vital to your photography and it's yours to choose. Forced PerspectiveForced Perspective. Ok where do I begin? It's taking small things and big things, using your position and the object(s) position to create something beautiful. The small object seems as big as the larger one or they appear to interact. It's a cool little trick, and a good one to know. The Lego Men work hard Lego Figures are the easiest thing to do this with. Their small size and easy pose-ability make them great contenders for forced perspective. Have fun with it, just play around until you get something you like, because remember Lego's moto is "Only the Best is Good Enough" Benny's Adventures on the strange planet. EditingI could honestly write an entire post on its own about this, Photoshop, apps, on the camera, cropping, but I'll keep it basic. Editing on Photoshop is super fun, and relatively simple. Replacing backgrounds, just select and move. You can download brushes, and patterns and play around with different layers and styles. I have some apps for this too. Photo Editor- is an app I use to make some changes to color and feel of photos, as well as making crops. PicMix Lite is all in the name. I use it to remove sticks or strings and merge photos. ElementFX Pro I use this to app smoke and fire effects. Also it has some cool lasers and water. Pow Strip Designer is for comics. LD is for lens flares or smoke. It's a layer thing. Camera+ is for taking photos when I don't have my camera. I can also edit them and it's similar to photo editor. Stop Motion and ReverseVid are for stop Motion and playing videos backwards. These are all free, but most have in app purchases. That's AllThanks guys for reading, and please ask any questions you have! Keep Building
